If We Dream It, We Can Do It

Mindfulness & Self-Compassion

Artwork: Shirazeh Houshiary*

Good morning beautiful people,

I do hope that your are safe and healthy, wherever you are in the world.

It’s been hard to land in your mailbox on a Friday lately, and maybe this will be the new Friday. At least I take my time to write, share my heart and thoughts and always welcome your feedback.

We are all doing our best at navigating this amazing and uncontrollable life, filled with joy and sadness, fulfilment, disappointments, compromises and living the dream and all of what comes with being human.

Then, why are we so hard and judgemental with ourselves and one another when we are all trying to figure out what is best for us and the people we are responsible for?

It seems to be the norm to indecently dump “must ways of living” on one another, without taking into account what the other party comes to the table with, meaning what are the values that resonate with their truth.

Remember that most of us are trying to fill up a void with substances, busyness or over-consomption as a result of not feeling fulfilled or their true self as they tick all of the required boxes to live a “happy life”.

Yet, no external thing can truly fill us up, except self love, self compassion and seriously tuning in.

So my dream, is to create an organisation that would allow children, teachers and even parents to have access to mindfulness classes in schools. They would learn about self acceptance, compassion and kindness, non violent communication and the law of cause and effect, saying goodbye to the victim mentality and instead, giving room to strong, communicative and compassionate humans finding out who they are.

I trust in the goodness of all humans, and believe that it is only trough hurt, alienation that we create monsters.

So today I planted a seed, and it will probably take time to see it grow but if we can dream it, we can do it. Otherwise, what would we dream? As the Dalaï Lama said: “If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you know anyone already doing this or have a lead with education and governments, anywhere…

In the meantime, If you do feel like taking a deep breath in, now is the time, and when you feel ready, let’s exhale, all together, letting go of anything and everything that is blocking our flow.

All comment are welcome and I am also available for sessions. Looking forward to hearing from you.

With love and deep respect,

Vanessa
