Radical Acceptance

Mindfulness & Self-Compassion

Good morning beautiful people,

I do hope that you are safe ans healthy, wherever you are in the world. Apologies for writing one day late, but better late than…

“ There is something wonderfully bold and liberating about saying yes to our entire imperfect and messy life.” Says Tara Brach, Ph. D who is a meditation teacher, psychologist and best selling author.

In her book Radical Acceptance, she says, “ Clearly recognising what is happening inside us, and regarding what we see with an open, kind and loving heart, is what I call Radical Acceptance. If we are holding back from any part of our experience, if our heart shuts out any part of who we are and what we feel, we are feeling the fears and feelings of separation that sustain the trance of unworthiness. “

“Radical Acceptande directly dismantles the very foundation of this trance. It is the willingness to experience ourselves and our lives as it is.”

“Feeling compassion for ourselves in no way releases us from responsibility for our actions. Rather, it releases us from the self hatred that prevents us from responding to our life with clarity and balance. “

This is my wish for us all today, that we somehow learn to see when we are stuck in a reactive trance, projecting the pains of our past onto the present moment.

In my online private practice, an exercise that seems to help us all, is to put the palm of your hand onto your heart, visualising love being infused straight into your heart. Breath with it, stay with it, until it calms your entire nervous system and grounds you into the truth of the present moment.

Please don’t hesitate to share how you are doing.

I always love reading your messages.

With love and deepest respect

Vanessa
